It wasn’t looking good for the home team early in the third period at The Blue Cross Arena. Providence took a 3-1 lead then at the 6:17 mark. That was less than two minutes after Brett Murray put the hosts on the board.

Murray and the Amerks weren’t done, though. Murray potted his second just 34 seconds later, before Anders Bjork sent the game into overtime with a goal at 16:45.

Linus Weissbach earned the hero roll with just six seconds left in overtime, converting Ethan Prow’s pass into the game winner.

Weissbach earlier assisted on Bjork’s goal. The Amerks also got single assists from Lukas Rousek, Jiri Kulich, Kale Clague, and Michael Mersch.

Rochester goalie Michael Houser finished with 31 saves. The Amerks outshot Providence, 46-34.
