Shorthanded Rochester gave it a good go and picked up a valuable point in this game played in Belleville, Ontario.

The Amerks started Beck Warm at goalie. Warm was in Cincinnati with his ECHL Cyclone teammates on Friday morning, and ended up playing two AHL games this weekend.

Warm’s backup was Leif Hertz, an Ontario Tech University student, and member of the OTU men’s ice hockey team. OTU is located in Oshawa, which is conveniently on the route from Rochester-to-Belleville.

Hertz was brought in as an emergency backup after a flu bug laid waste to Rochester’s regular goaltender corps of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Michael Houser, and Malcolm Subban.

Warm nearly stole this one for the visitors. He stopped 32 of 35 shots.

The Amerks got single goals from Brendan Warren and Aleksandr Kisakov.

No. 3 star: Beck Warm

Rochester record: 7-4-1-1 (2nd place, AHL North Division)

Amerks next – Nov. 18, host Utica, (7:05 p.m.); Nov. 19, at Utica (7 p.m.)
