The Top 25 Under 25 is a collaboration by members of the Die By The Blade community. It was a combination of six staff writers and over 485 fans that ranked players under the age of 25 as of August 10, 2021. Each participant used their own metric of current ability and production to rank each player.

Up to spot #23 in the Buffalo Sabres Top 25 Under 25 countdown, we see a two spot increase for incoming Amerk/Sabre Linus Weissbach. Finishing his four year collegiate career AND being nice enough to stick with us on his first pro contract, Linus saw a significant increase in production with his senior season. Haters will say it’s because some small name prospects named Cole Caufield and Dylan Holloway largely were the culprits.

But, we don’t want none of that around here. We have high hopes in Sabres land for Weissbach. Maybe that’s because we need some more forward prospect development around these parts.

All in all, Linus looks to add a speed & skill element to the Amerks to start the season, and hopefully he can make that step into the NHL.
