There will be a handful of current (and possibly future) Sabres playing in the tournament in Latvia

The 2021 edition of the hockey world championship starts today in Latvia, with a handful of Buffalo Sabres representing their respective countries. There’s also a number of prospects who are going to get picked up high in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft who will be at the competition and both scouts and fans will be watching their progress very keenly.

The Sabres contingent include -
USA: Tage Thompson (also Matty Beniers)
Canada: Colin Miller (also Owen Power)
Finland: Arttu Ruotsalainen
Sweden: Victor Olofsson, Lawrence Pilut
Germany: Tobias Rieder, JJ Peterka
