As promised, highlights. All six weekend games featuring Sabres' prospects are below. Friday and Saturday reviews appeared in previous Fanposts.
But first ...
Northeastern 2, RPI 1
If you think there's been a better D1 goalie than Devon Levi this season, respond below. And come with facts. There's little chance you'll win with opinion.
Levi stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced, allowing the Huskies to sweep their weekend set with the Engineers by identical scorelines. The sophomore lowered his goals against average to 1.43, and raised his save percentage to .950.
The highlights -- thanks to the excellent RPI sports information office -- are loaded with Levi thrills. Even the announcers were impressed.
And stay with Sunday's highlights to the end -- the very end. You'll be wowed by a future Sabre.
Niagara at Michigan
The Wolverines swept the Purple Eagles, 6-1 and 4-1. Owen Power and Erik Portillo got some nice screen time in.
Particularly Power. Pay close attention to the backhand power move he makes in the Saturday highlights (starting at 0:39).
Minnesota at North Dakota
The longtime rivalry resumed in Grand Forks, and their pair split the set. Minnesota won the opener, 5-1. North Dakota took the closer, 3-2.
Ryan Johnson scored Friday night, thanks to a crazy deflection. The Sabres' first round pick (2019) played his usual regular shift on the Golden Gophers blueline.
Matteo Costantini (fifth round, 2020) didn't suit up for North Dakota, though his name was in the live statistics box each night. The freshman was diagnosed with illness (non-Covid) prior to ND's weekend set with Minnesota-Duluth (Nov. 19 & 20), and didn't play either game against the Bulldogs.
