2021 NHL Trade Deadline Tracker

It’s NHL trade deadline day! Stay tuned to this tracker and our open thread for details over the course of the day.

Post-Deadline: The trade deadline has come and gone, but many deals are still trickling in as the NHL plays catch-up with a backlog of deals.

A three-way trade has been completed between Chicago, San Jose & Vegas. Vegas picks up Mattias Janmark and Nick DeSimone along with a fifth-rounder (2022). Chicago gets a 2021 2nd-rounder and 2022 3rd-rounder from Vegas. San Jose is a broker team and gets a fifth-rounder in 2022 (which originally belonged to the Sabres.)

Vancouver and Chicago also make a swap. Chicago gets a 2021 fourth-rounder, while Vancouver snags defenseman Madison Bowey and a 5th-round pick this year.

Washington gets Anthony Mantha, sending a lot to Detroit: Richard Panik, Jakub Vrana, a 2021 1st-round pick and a 2022 2nd-round pick.

Toronto gets defenseman Ben Hutton from Anaheim for a 2022 fifth-round pick.

2:50 PM: Sam Bennett heads to Florida for 2nd in 2022 and Emil Heineman.

Montreal gets Erik Gustafsson from Philadelphia in exchange for a 2022 7th-rounder.

2:15 PM: Chicago acquires the rights to forward Ryder Rolston & forward Josh Dickinson from Colorado in exchange for Carl Soderberg.

1:45 PM: Not a trade, but Alex Iafallo re-ups in Los Angeles. It’s a four-year deal.
Chicago & Vancouver swap Matthew Highmore and Adam Gaudette.

1PM: Former Sabre Dmitry Kulikov is on the move, going to the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional fourth round pick to the New Jersey Devils.
Mattias Janmark and 5th rounder to Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks getting a 2nd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder next year.

10 AM: It’s been a quiet morning so far, but here’s a reminder for the coming hours: players must be on an AHL roster or NHL taxi squad at 3 p.m. ET in order to be eligible to be sent down to the AHL roster at any point the rest of the season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have picked up Jeff Carter for two conditional picks, a 2022 3rd and 2023 4th to the Los Angeles Kings.

8 AM: It’s official. The Sabres have sent Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar to the Boston Bruins in exchange for forward Anders Bjork and a second-round pick. The trade first broke around midnight.

Another one you may have missed overnight: the Penguins acquired Jeff Carter from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a pair of draft picks.
