2021 IIHF Men’s World Championships: USA Loses to Finland
Thompson, Ruotsalainen, Rieder all in action
After two days of action at the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Championships, Russia leads the tournament’s Group A teams with a 2-0 record, while Germany remains perfect in Group B.
As a note, per Chris Peters, Germany hasn’t registered Sabres prospect JJ Peterka for the team yet, which is why he didn’t play in either of the team’s first two games. As Peters said, this is likely a smart team move for flexibility in their roster:
Notably, Germany hasn't registered JJ Peterka (BUF) for the team yet, so he did not play today. Many teams did not register their full rosters yet to maintain some flexibility. Once a player is listed, they can't be swapped.
