Canada finally secured their first win of the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Championships with a 4-2 win over Norway, while Great Britain beat Belarus 4-3 to earn its first victory. Elsewhere, Kazakhstan surprised Germany while Russia bested Denmark. Buffalo Sabres forward Tobias Rieder, who played on the top line, recorded an assist on this goal by Tom Kuhnhackl:
