Rochester continues to impress the masses, as they keep pace in the North Division despite missing a large amount of talent.
Head Coach Chris Taylor returned to the Americans’ bench for the first time all season on Friday night.
Rochester also managed to pull their points streak through the end of the month.
Take a look below and get caught up on what went down last week down on the farm.
November 29 – Toronto 3, Rochester 2 (OT)
ROC: B. Murray (3), S. Wilson (6)
ROC: A. Hammond – 28 saves (OTL – 7-1-2)
November 30 – Rochester 3, Cleveland 2
ROC: A. Oglevie (7, 8, 9)
ROC: J. Johansson – 24 saves (W – 6-2-2)
Three Big Things
1: Oglevie, the Offensive Stud.
Last week, we highlighted forward Andrew Oglevie, who had scored a goal in four straight games.
Oglevie’s four-game goal streak came to an end on Friday night against the Toronto Marlies but he responded with a bang on Saturday.
Against the Cleveland Monsters, the Rochester Americans scored three goals. All three goals were scored by Andrew Oglevie.
Oglevie continues to assert himself as a goal-scoring threat and there does not appear to be an end in sight.
2: Guess Who’s Back
Chris Taylor took his normal spot behind the Rochester Americans bench on Friday night for the first time all season.
Taylor had been on an emergency recall and filling in on the Buffalo Sabres coaching staff for an ill Don Granato.
Following Friday night’s overtime loss, Taylor reflected positively to the collected media at the Blue Cross Arena.
“It was a really good game. I thought we had a lot of good chances to win the game but we missed four or five good scoring chances.”
3: White-Hot Amerks
The Rochester Americans closed out their month of November in incredible fashion.
Rochester currently holds a record of 13-2-4, good enough for second in the North Division. The Americans tallied 30 of a total 40 points in November, including a ten-game point streak.
Going further, Rochester has picked up at least one point in 15 of their last 17 games.
Defying logic and playing through adversity has seemingly bound this Americans squad together tighter than a knot.
