We’re only one one game into the preseason and the Buffalo Sabres have three injuries that coukd cause players to miss the start of the season.
This first is defenseman Matt Hunwick who has yet to practice with the Sabres. He’s listed as out indefinitely with a neck injury.
Sean Malone suffered a knee injury in last night’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He’s expected to miss around six weeks. Unfortunate for a player who was battling for a roster spot and started last season with an injury as well.
The last player and perhaps most concerning is newly-acquired winger Conor Sheary. He suffered an upper-body injury in practice over the weekend. He’s listed as week-to-week.
Zach Bogosian is not listed on the injury report, but has not skated in three days. Head coach Phil Housley indicated they’re taking it slow with him after hip surgery and is expected to get on the ice tomorrow.
