Justin Bailey re-signs with the Sabres on a one-year, two-way deal

The Sabres continue to sign their restricted free agents by inking Justin Bailey to a one-year contract

The Buffalo Sabres continued their streak of signing restricted free agents today. Justin Bailey agreed to a one-year, two-way contract worth $715,000.

The big 23-year-old winger played 12 games with the Sabres last season, scoring three goals and 4 points over that stretch.

Bailey scored 10 goals and 15 points in 37 games with the Rochester Amerks of the AHL during the remainder of last season.

Training camp feels like make or break from the former second-round pick. He’s been given opportunities to earn a roster spot and has yet to do so. In order for him to return to the AHL if doesn’t make the team in September, he’ll need to clear waivers before he can be assigned.

There’s a chance he could be claimed by another club with his size and speed. Both Bailey and Nick Baptiste will be interesting players to follow throughout training camp come the middle of September.
