Baptiste, 22, played in 33 games for the Sabres last season. In those 33 games, Baptiste recorded 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in a bottom-six role.
In 36 games with the Rochester Americans last season, Baptiste scored 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in 36 games and one goal in three Calder Cup playoff games.
Known for his speed and size, Baptiste has had no issue putting it together in the AHL but has continued to struggle finding a role as soon as he receives the call from the big club.
With the potential of being exposed to waivers this season, this could be Baptiste’s last shot to stick with the Sabres before either being waived or traded.
