This September, the Buffalo Sabres will once again host an NHL Prospects Challenge in Buffalo. The Challenge will be held September 7-10 at HARBORCENTER in downtown Buffalo and will see prospects from the Sabres face prospects from the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils.
A full schedule for the round-robin challenge hasn’t been released yet, but the Bruins put out their schedule of games late last week. They’ll face the Sabres prospects at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 8.
Update (July 31, 2018): The Sabres have now officially announced the Prospects Challenge.
Sabres prospects will face the Devils on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., the Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. and Pittsburgh on Monday, Sept. 10 at 12:30 p.m.
Boston prospects will also face Pittsburgh on September 7 at 3:30 p.m. and New Jersey on September 10 at 9:30 a.m. New Jersey and Pittsburgh will face off on September 8 at 3:30 p.m.
Rosters for the Prospects Challenge will be released at a later date, but it’s likely that the Sabres would put players like Rasmus Dahlin, Vasily Glotov, Vaclav Karabacek, Alexander Nylander and Brendan Guhle on the ice.
Tickets for last season’s games were $10 each; the same price will apply this year. Tickets are now available for purchase here.
Last year, the Prospects Challenge games were streamed, free of charge, on NHL.com, but the stream information wasn’t released until a day or two before the action began.
