Letter From the Editor: Thank You!

We made it through the season and a big thank you is in order

NHL: Ottawa Senators at Buffalo Sabres Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

It’s finally over! One of the worst seasons in Buffalo Sabres history has finally come to an end. I thought last season was tough, but this was one really tested the resolve at times.

That being said congratulations. Pat yourself on the back for making it through and still being a fan of this hockey club that hasn’t given you much to cheer about in a few years.

This was my first season as Managing Editor for Die By The Blade and even though it was a rough season, I had a blast. Writing and interacting with you (the reader) throughout the season is what helped me keep going.

Once I got into a groove I feel like the site started to function like a well-oiled machine. I couldn’t have done it without the great team that contributed to the site with excellent content.

Stick taps to Ryan Wolfe, Melissa Burgess, Calvin, Max Marko, Lee Drinkwater, Matt Zakrzewski and even the newcomers Anthony Sciandra, as well as Erik Wollschlager. I’m very excited about the future of the site with this amazing team that has been assembled.

Last but not least, all of the readers and commenters on this site deserve the ultimate stick tap. In one of the worst seasons, we actually had very good growth on the site and social media. That included having the article with the most views on trade deadline day in the SB Nation hockey universe with our deadline open thread.

I hope you’re happy with the direction of the site and continue to come back throughout the playoffs and offseason. We have a lot in the works still including player report cards, offseason analysis, draft analysis and season recap articles.

We’re not done by a long shot, so keep coming back and let’s keep the conversation going.

Thank you again for all of the support throughout this season!

Chad, out!
