The Buffalo Sabres announced this morning they’ve recalled forward Justin Bailey again from the Rochester Americans.
They recalled Bailey last Friday and he played in the game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday before being returned to the Amerks to play in their game on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was deserving of getting another opportunity with the Sabres. Bailey scored a nice goal against the Golden Knights and played well throughout the game. He followed that up with a dominating performance the following night for the Amerks against the Syracuse Crunch.
In the game against the Crunch, Bailey picked up a one-game suspension in the AHL for an illegal check to the head. He’ll need to serve that once he returns to the Amerks.
The former second-round pick has three goals and four points in eight games with the Sabres this season. He’s shown flashes of being impactful in the NHL but has struggled with consistency.
We’ll see how the lines look in practice today as the Sabres appear to have 14 healthy forwards on the roster if you include Jack Eichel.
