Sabres added another forward by claiming Remi Elie from the Stars

NHL: Preseason-Dallas Stars at Minnesota Wild Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Sabres continue to make changes to their roster. Today they claimed winger Remi Elie off waivers from the Dallas Stars.

Elie is a 23-year-old forward that was a second-round pick of the Stars back in 2013.

He scored six goals and 14 points in 72 games with the Stars last season. Elie has played a total of 90 NHL games over two seasons.

Elie has one more year remaining on his contract with a $735 thousand cap hit. He becomes a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

This move leaves the Sabres with 24 players on their roster and they need to be down to 23 by 5 PM today.

We’ll see what the cooresponding move will be. They could send Matt Tennyson down to Rochester or place one of either Johan Larsson or Zach Bogosian on injured reserve to start the season.

Stay tuned for the next move!
