Grading the Buffalo Sabres: Injuries, defense still plague team

The grades from the West Coast road trip are in, and it made for slight better reading than before. The three stars of the week from Games 4-7 were Jason Pominville (4.06), Evander Kane (4.04) and Jack Eichel (3.78).

The were some low grades too, with the bottom three: Seth Griffith (1.74), Jacob Josefson (1.71) and Matt Moulson (1.62).

The Buffalo Sabres finally picked up a couple of wins, but had a couple of ugly losses over the last five games as well.

We’ll stick with Corsi For % as the advanced stat metric beyond just the goals, assists and +/-. For Phil Housley we also have the team’s overall Corsi For % as a measurable stat.
