The Buffalo Sabres announced they’ve sign forward Cliff Pu to a three-year entry-level contract. Pu was selected in the third round of the 2016 NHL draft by the club. He’s currently playing in the OHL for the London Knights and has six points in 11 games this season. Last season he registered a career-high 86 points in 63 games from the Knights.

Pu has always been an intriguing prospect with his speed and scoring ability. In prospect development camp and the Prospects Challenge this year the Ontario native stood out. He was the top center on the team in the Prospects Challenge which earned him an invite to Sabres training camp.

He played in two preseason games for the Sabres after catching the eye of the new management team before being assigned back to juniors. Pu is a promising prospect that could end up being a great value pick in the third round. Fans may also get a glimpse of him in the upcoming World Juniors in Buffalo if he plays for Canada.
