World Cup of Hockey Open Thread 9/19/2016

Team North America lived up to their youthful promise last night as they blew away Team Finland in a display of pure speed and skill. Team Sweden narrowly edged Team Russia in the other game.

There’s a quick return to the ice for North America and Russia as they play their second games on back-to-back days. Anything but a win could eliminate the Russians from the tournament, so they will have plenty to play for, while the under-23s will be looking to seal their spot in the semi-finals with another win.

Team Europe will be flying high after beating Team USA on Saturday, while Team Czech Republic will be smarting from a spanking handed out by Team Canada.
