NHL All-Star Game 2016: Game time, TV schedule and open thread

New, comments

The best the NHL has to offer take part in a 3-on-3 tournament - it's the All Star Game! Here's everything you need to know and how to watch.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The All Star Game is upon us, and there's plenty more reason to care about and watch this year's event over previous years. First and foremost is the new 3-on-3 format, featuring plenty of open ice and a mini-tournament between East and West to determine the victors. Second is the continuation of the John Scott saga, who's gone from martyr to hero in the span of a few days.

Of course, for Buffalo Sabres fans, Ryan O'Reilly will be playing for the Atlantic Division thanks to the career year he's having, and hopefully he can make a nice showing in this battle of the best. Here's how to watch tonight's festivities.

Atlantic Division vs. Metropolitan Division

When: 5:00pm EST

Central Division vs. Pacific Division

When: 6:00pm EST

Eastern Conference Winner vs. Western Conference Winner

When: 7:00pm EST
