Earlier today, we found out that Rasmus Ristolainen had been named to Finland’s preliminary roster for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Just a few minutes ago, we found out that he’ll have a teammate joining him at the tournament.
The North American team has released their roster, and the Buffalo Sabres rookie phenom Jack Eichel is among the forwards.
The 19-year old joins players like Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Aaron Ekblad on the U23 team, colloquially known as the Young Guns. It’s an interesting idea, and the youngsters will have a tough test in Group B, playing Teams Sweden, Russia, and Finland.
