2016 NHL Draft tickets to go on sale Wednesday, June 1 at 10am

For months, fans of the Buffalo Sabres have been salivating over the prospect of their team hosting the 2016 NHL Draft in the First Niagara Center. Tomorrow morning today, you’ll have your chance to score tickets to the draft, if you can beat out everyone else, that is.

The Sabres announced today that draft tickets will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:00am.

Tickets will be sold through Tickets.com, and you can find the link to purchase right here. The tickets are only for Round One of the draft, taking place on Friday, June 24, and will cost $30 for 100 and 200 level tickets, and $20 for a seat in the 300’s.

Here’s a blurb from the official announcement to whet your appetite. In the meantime, let us know if you’re planning on going to the draft – or score tickets tomorrow – in the comments.

The 2016 event will mark the third time the Sabres and the city of Buffalo host the NHL Draft, and the second time the event will be at First Niagara Center. The Draft was held at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in 1991, when Eric Lindros was selected first overall. The last time the Draft was in Buffalo, in 1998, Vincent Lecavalier was selected first overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

“Awarding the 2016 National Hockey League Draft to Buffalo honors the passion of its fans for our sport and reflects the commitment of Terry and Kim Pegula to the Sabres and to Buffalo,” Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “We are delighted our fans will have the opportunity to welcome the incoming class of outstanding players at First Niagara Center, which is one of the hockey world’s top event destinations.”
