Sabres front office "livid" about how Babcock handled last two days

New, comments

Buffalo was so confident they'd land him that they had a press conference scheduled according to the Buffalo News' Tim Graham.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News says the Sabres aren't too happy about how the whole Babcock situation turned out. In fact, the team feels that they've been "played."

It's not yet known whether Babcock used the Sabres as leverage against the Leafs, or if he ever truly planned to come to Buffalo at all. Those things may never be known. But reports make it seem that Toronto was certainly the place he hoped to end up. TVA's Louis Jean reports that Toronto not only flew in former Lightning coach Guy Boucher in this morning, they planned to make him their next coach. That changed when Babcock got in contact with them.
