Chris Stewart traded from Buffalo to Minnesota for 2nd round pick in 2017

New, comments

The deal we've all been waiting for is done.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Sabres have been very active in the week leading up to he trade deadline, and the one we've know was coming for a long time is finally complete.

The Sabres traded Chris Stewart to the Minnesota Wild for a 2nd round pick in 2017. The return for Stewart is good, even though we'll have to wait a while to see it come to fruition, and Stewart now joins a Buffalo West squad that includes former Sabres Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville, and Jordan Leopold.

The Sabres will retain half of Stewart's salary in the deal.

We'll update with comments from Stewart and Tim Murray later, but for now let us know what you think of this deal in the comments.
