The Sabres came in to tonight's game against the St. Louis Blues in a scoring slump, having scored just four goals in their last four games. And after tonight's game, that average holds strong after Buffalo scored just a single goal in tonight's 2-1 loss to the Blues.
It wasn't for lack of trying - the Sabres had a handful of glorious chances in the first, and hit three posts throughout the course of the game. But for the most part the bounces just didn't go their way. The teams traded goals from David Legwand and Troy Brouwer before Robby Fabbri scored the winner in the third.
1. Will special teams be as lopsided as the last time these teams met?
The Sabres were unable to score on any of their three power plays, and the Blues didn't even get one. The Sabres were remarkably well behaved tonight.
2. When will this team break out of their scoring slump?
Not tonight, apparently. The Sabres missed out on a whole mess of chances, and didn't get any of the bounces in this one. Puck luck continues to go against them.
3. Will Mark Pysyk make his return tonight?
