Sabres training camp opens September 18, roster announced

New, comments

The Sabres will open their training camp one week from today. Hockey is close!

Mitchell Leff

Today in Buffalo, the temperature dropped about 15 degrees during the day. Why? Because the weather just realized that Sabres hockey is only one week away, obviously.

Thursday, September 18 marks the opening of the upcoming season's training camp for the Buffalo Sabres, and the first chance to see what the 2014-15 squad might look like. Will Sam Reinhart make the team? What about Rasmus Ristolainen or Nikita Zadorov? And does Josh Gorges look as beautiful as his name implies?

All those questions and more will be answered soon. Next week brings six practices - all open to the public - and two pre-season games, against Washington and Carolina, respectively. The full schedule for next week can be found at the bottom of this post, courtesy of the Sabres.

However, the questions about training camp begin with: who's invited? The training camp roster includes everyone you were expecting...and nobody you weren't, as the Sabres didn't bring in any veterans for a camp tryout. However, it will be the first chance to see Sam Reinhart play with the big boys, which is exciting enough as it is.

The full camp roster can be found here.

Clear your calendars, Buffalonians, and tell us what or who you're most excited to see when training camp opens next week.
