Sabres sign Sam Reinhart to a three-year, entry level contract

New, comments

Sam Reinhart threw out the first pitch at the Bisons game last night, and today he's signed his first NHL contact. It's been quite the week for young Samson.

The Sabres have announced that they have signed second overall pick Sam Reinhart to a three-year, entry level deal. With the signing, he will likely at least start the season in Buffalo before the team has to decide whether or not they'll send him back to juniors.

Reinhart is one of the many young players who will be in town next week for the Sabres development camp. He'll be joined by all the other 2014 Buffalo draft picks.

Buffalo selected Reinhart second overall in this year's draft, the first forward to be taken. He scored 36 goals and 69 goals in 60 games with Kootenay last season.

The Sabres also announced earlier today that they have signed recently acquired Jordan Samuels-Thomas to a one-year deal. If he had not signed before August 15 he would have become a free agent. He'll be able to play in Rochester next season, as he has completed his four years at the NCAA level.
