There's one day left in the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship, and the Buffalo Sabres have one of their own playing for gold.
Rasmus Ristolainen and Team Finland will be playing the hometown Swedes for the championship today after dominating the Canadian team 5-1 on Saturday. Ristolainen scored a honey of a goal in the game against the Canucks, roofing a snap shot up top after Canadian goalie Zach Fucale made a fantastic save and giving Finland a massive momentum swing. He has two goals in four games in the tourney, and has been wearing an A for the Finnish squad. The gold medal game takes place at 1:00pm today on NHL Network.
The Russians did not fare so well yesterday, losing 2-1 to Team Sweden. Grigorenko is still in the top-10 as far as points go, with seven points (4+3) in six games, and was named by his coaches as one of the Top 3 players for team Russia during the tournament. Nikita Zadorov has four goals and an assist in his six contests, and both players have been huge components of the Russian team, playing big minutes in all situations. Russia will play the Canadian team today for bronze, which you can watch on NHL Network starting at 9:00am.
