2013 NHL Draft: Sabres Select Eric Locke With Pick 189

The Buffalo Sabres have wrapped up their 2013 draft by selecting center Eric Locke with pick 189 in the seventh round.

Locke is a small center, standing only 5’9” and 182lbs, but scored a whole bunch for the Spirit, notching 44 goals and 97 points in 68 games in the OHL.

So why did the Toronto native drop? His size is obviously an issue, but he’s also an older player – 19 right now and will be turning 20 early next season.

Still, the kid can make plays, so we’ll see what becomes of a seventh round pick. He’s currently a teammate of last year’s draft pick Justin Kea.

And with that, the Sabres draft is officially over.
