Every hockey fan has been wishing for some NHL news for a few months now, but not the kind we found yesterday. Rick Rypien, the former Vancouver Canucks tough guy who had just signed with Winnipeg, was found dead in his home at the age of 27. The hockey world's thoughts and prayers today go out to the Vancouver and Winnipeg communities, but most of all to the Rypien family.

More than 30 of the top prospects eligible for the 2012 NHL Draft will scrimmage under the proposed rule changes, new strategies and rink modifications in a setting that closely approximates NHL game play.
