The AHL is announcing their first and second team all stars and some Portland Pirates have been honored. Luke Adam was named to the first team All-AHL Rookie team. Adam is the sixth Pirate to be named to the team in the last six years and the third Sabres prospect in a row to be honored, the other two being Tyler Ennis and Nathan Gerbe. Adam has 25 goals and 49 points with the Pirates and would have probably had more had he not played 19 games with the Sabres this season.
Mark Mancari and Marc-Andre Gragnani have been named to the first team AHL First All-Star Team. Mancari has 32 goals and 32 assists for the Pirates this season, which leads the Pirates in both categories. Marc-Andre Gragnani has 12 goals which is second among defensemen on the team and has 60 points which is second on the team.
All three players have had a cup of tea with the Sabres this season with Mancari and Gragnani still with the team, and most likely with the team through the end of the season.
