For those unaware, this is the week of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the biggest week of the year for video games. In honor of E3, we've got news, screenshots, and trailers of this year's crop of hockey titles. Check out all the info after the break - oh, and we still have regular-type hockey stuff too.

In addition to Toews on the cover, NHL 11 introduces a new physics engine to make every hit different, broken sticks (and playing without a stick), a new faceoff engine, and user-controlled celebrations. First trailer also included that shows Craig Rivet getting upended twice.

EA Sports Brings NHL Slapshot, Mini-Hockey Sticks, to Wii - Kotaku
The Toronto Sun reported today that EA Sports' upcoming NHL game for the Wii will be called NHL Slapshot, and it will be completely different from the 360/PS3 game. It will also ship with a mini-hockey stick peripheral, and a super creepy photo of Wayne Gretzky playing with your children.

NHL 2K Isn't Dead, It's Just Resting - Kotaku
Take-Two Interactive CEO Ben Feder sheds some light on NHL 2K's absence from the company's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 line-up, explaining that the series is on hiatus this year in order to come back stronger with NHL 2K12. The Wii version will also have to compete against EA Sports' new NHL game.
