The Canadian Hockey League will kick off their Memorial Cup tournament tonight when the Windsor Spitfires take on the host Brandon Wheat Kings. The Buffalo News has a short preview of the game with a Tragically Hip video included. There is plenty more information at the official Memorial Cup website.
This tournament is of interest to Sabres fans because of the participation of last seasons first round draft pick Zack Kassian. Kassian is a forward for the Ontario Hockey League Champion Windsor Spitfires after he was traded mid-season from Peterborough. If you are looking or an opportunity to see a future Sabre in action you will have your chance tonight.
I will have a game thread up for the game tonight and every other Windsor game during the tournament so feel free to join us. The entire schedule is posted below.
