The second and final home preseason game is tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Sabres roster is starting to take shape for the beginning of the regular season. The Sabres roster is below from Mike Harrington of the News:
Goalies: Ryan Miller, Jhonas Enroth
Defense: Steve Montador, Toni Lydman, Henrik Tallinder, Chris Butler, Nathan Paetsch, Andrej Sekera, Tyler Myers.
Forwards: Cody McCormick, Derek Roy, Daniel Paille, Drew Stafford, Jeff Cowan, Mike Grier, Paul Gaustad, Jason Pominville, Matt Ellis, Clarke MacArthur, Philip Gogulla, Jochen Hecht, Tim Kennedy.
One thing of note is it will be Steve Montador's first game of the preseason due to his injury that he suffered in training camp. Ryan Miller is getting the full start tonight and will probably play in one more preseason game before getting ready for October 3rd. For the Leafs, players of note playing tonight are Nazem Kadri, who was the Leafs first round pick. Kadri is making Leafs' fans drool over his play this preseason but will most likely not make the team and be sent down to juniors by the time these two teams meet again on Saturday.
As the preseason starts to wear down, it only means one thing for Sabres fans. October 3rd is getting that much closer. Game time is 7pm at HSBC Arena with a "Red Carpet" party scheduled for 5pm. For those not going tonight, while the game is on NHL Network, as of now it WILL NOT be televised in Buffalo.
