Game Day Preview: Detroit Red Wings vs. Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres are currently on life support with the Panthers defeating the Penguins last night.  They are four points back of both 8th and 9th place with one game in hand.  That game in hand comes against the Detroit Red Wings which is no small feat on its own.

The last time these two teams met was January 10th when the Red Wings basically took it to the Sabres, beating them 3-1 in Detroit.  Ty Conklin was in net for the Red Wings with Ryan Miller in net for the Sabres.  Miller stopped 45 of 48 shots during that game, but the Sabres offense just didn't show up.

This time around, its going to be Chris Osgood in net for the Red Wings.  That shouldn't change much though for Detroit because they are still a very dangerous team that is going to be a major challenge for the Sabres.  The Sabres are a deflated team that couldn't seem to find the back of the net at the right time against the Devils on Saturday and just haven't been a spectacular team all season.

Game time is 7:00 pm on Versus tonight so get the radios ready.
