Playoff Previews - April 17th

Flyers/Penguins - 7pm (CBC, Versus)

The Flyers try to battle back from what was a terrible showing on Wednesday night against the Penguins.  They do this without tough guy Daniel Carcillo who was suspended for tonight's game by the league after elbowing Maxime Talbot towards the end of Game 1.  The key for the Flyers tonight is strong play from goaltender Martin Biron who was out of position and looked relatively lost at most moments during Game 1.  The Penguins outshot the Flyers and caused them to make many more mistakes with the puck.

Hurricanes/Devils - 7pm (TSN)

Martin Brodeur looked like his old self stopping a few shots in New Jersey's Game 1 win over the Hurricanes.  Cam Ward looked alright as well as the Devils had 39 shots on the game while the Canes could only muster 19 shots.  The Hurricanes need to be able to find a way to get the puck on net and find a way to crack the Devils trapping defense.

Blues/Canucks - 10pm (CBC, Versus)

The Blues stumbled in their first game but can need to even the series against the ever dangerous Roberto Luongo.  If the Blues can split the first two games, they have a fighting chance taking the series back to St. Louis.  The Blues need to get in the head of Luongo and early and if they can keep the agitation going that they were doing in Game 1, they may very well be able to do that.
