- The Sabres are currently six points out of a playoff spot with seven games remaining on the schedule.
- All three previous meetings between the Sabres and Thrashers have ended in a shootout. The Thrashers have lost all three games.
- Patrick Kaleta will be in the lineup tonight despite being hit from behind by Maxim Lapierre on Saturday night.
- Max Afinogenov will be back in the press box tonight and Adam Mair will be in the lineup.
- Andrej Sekera is going to be a healthy scratch this evening and Teppo Numminen will be back in the lineup.
- Mikael Tellqvist is expected to back up Ryan Miller tonight because Patrick Lalime is suffering from a hip ailment.
