The Sabres couldn't catch a break last night with both the Canadiens and Panthers winning. Therefore, the Sabres are six points behind the Canadiens and five points behind the Panthers. Tonight, they face a foe that they haven't beaten all season in the Atlanta Thrashers.
For the Sabres, every game is critical and the season is in must win territory. Ryan Miller will probably get the start and Teppo Numminen will be in place of Andrej Sekera. The Sabres are riding a three game winning streak, finally finding their offense probably about twenty games too late.
The Thrashers are playing for pride at this point and have won three of their last five games. They are also Sabre killers this season, beating them in all three matchups in either a shootout or overtime. The last matchup on March 14 saw the Sabres give up a two goal lead in the third period to lose that game 4-3. In net for the Thrashers is most likely Johan Hedberg.
Game time is 7pm on MSG at Phillips Arena.
