All-Time Number Debate: 1 John Blue

So many Sabres have come and gone in the organization over the past 39 years.  But who was the best wearing their number.  This is going to settle that debate.  Using the Buffalo Sabres Alumni listing of all-time uniform numbers we will post a player a day based on their number.  After a certain uniform number is up, we put the vote to you.

Today's player is John Blue.  Blue was one of five players to wear the 1 for the Sabres and his time was fairly short.  Blue played in five games as a Sabre during the 1995-96 season going 2-2 in that stretch.  Blue had a 3.53 GAA with an .891 SV% during that time and gave up 3 or more goals in four out of those five games.

Blue was drafted by the WInnipeg Jets in the tenth round and eventually ended up with the Boston Bruins in the 1992 and 1993 seasons.  Blue's lore in Buffalo history may very well be the goaltender that allowed the May Day goal.
