Game Day Preview: Buffalo Sabres vs. Philadelphia Flyers

New, comments

The Sabres head into the Wachovia Center tonight to take on the Flyers tonight.  The Sabres are coming off their thrashing of the Leafs at the Air Canada Center and they also get some extra relief.  Paul Gaustad should play the wing tonight, coming off of an upper body injury.  Nathan Gerbe has gone back to Portland to make room.

The Flyers are coming off a thrashing of their own, their last game being a 5-2 beatdown of the lowly Rangers.  The Flyers main weapon is Jeff Carter who has 34 goals on the season, second in the league.  The main loss so far has been Daniel Briere who is looking to return to the lineup soon from his groin injury.   Unfortunately for Sabres fans that return won't come until next Tuesday.

Our projected starting goaltenders are going to be Ryan Miller and Marty Biron.  Miller has pretty much stood on his head, going 5-2-1 with a 2.02 GAA and 2 shutouts in his last eight games.  Biron on the other hand has gone 2-4 in his last seven starts, allowing 3 or more goals in 5 of those starts.

Game time is 7pm back on MSG with Rick and Harry.
