Game Notes

  • The Sabres were shutout for the third time this season on Sunday against Carolina. Ironically all three shutouts were at home. Luckily tonight's game is on the road.
  • Tim Connolly had a five game point streak end in the shutout loss on Sunday.
  • The Sabres have lost three of their last four games.
  • Buffalo begins tonight tied in seventh place with the Florida Panthers but just two points out of fifth place.

Other Notable Games

It's that time of year when you should not only be concerned with the Sabres but with the other teams that are near them in the standings. This is what makes hockey and all of sports so much fun. There are two other matchups that you should keep your on this evening.

The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting the Boston Bruins. The Bruins remain in first place in the Eastern Conference but they have lost four straight games. The Canes are coming off of a huge victory against the Sabres on Sunday and now trail the Sabres by only three points for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

The second notable matchup is between the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Panthers. New Jersey is riding a four game winning streak and Goalie Scott Clemmensen has been out of his mind recently. The game is in Florida where the Panthers have an impressive 15-7-5 record.
