There is plenty of speculation as to why the move was necessary. Some people think that Lalime may have re-injured his groin, there is also speculation that either Miller or Lalime might have the flu. There is also some speculation the Sabres will waive Patrick Lalime.
I think it would be safe to bet Patrick Lalime is either injured or suffering from the flu. There was no good reason for Ryan Miller to play on Saturday and the logical explanation would be an injury or illness.

A Swedish website is reporting that Enroth is coming up to join the Sabres for the second time in his career in order spell Patrick Lalime who is battling groin trouble.
The Buffalo Sabres have officially reported it was a groin injury that will sideline Lalime. Lindy Ruff stated that if Lalime is not ready by the weekend, Enroth would likely make his season debut.
