It's been quite awhile since the Sabres and Capitals met last. In fact it was way back on November 1 when the Sabres beat the Capitals 5-0. Tonight's game will have a completely different look than the last. First of all, SB Nation has added the best Capitals blog on the net to the list of hockey blogs, so go check out Japers Rink for all your Capitals coverage. The Sabres lineup will also look markedly different.
The biggest difference will be in net because Ryan Miller is expected to take the night off allowing Patrick Lalime to get a start on the road. It seems that the Sabres are reluctant to play Miller in back-to-back games and they seem to play Miller against the weaker team. The Sabres play the Islanders tomorrow night in Buffalo.
Lindy Ruff has also decided to breakl apart the tandem of Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht. Pommer will play with Roy and Vanek while Hecht is expected to play with MacArthur and Stafford. It is possible that this could spark some guys that are struggling but it could also make the Sabres a one line team. My personal feeling is that it will make the Sabres a weaker team.
