Buffalo Sabres: Weekly Prospect Update

It's Tuesday and that means prospects. There were some prospects who performed admirably and others that struggled during this current week. It's always fun tracking the young kids and trying to project where they will end up in the pros. As always I will give a summary of the prospects but if you crave more, head on over to Sabres Prospects.com.

It was difficult to select a few players that were worthy of being named Prospect of the Week but here is the list I came up with. It is the first time that all three candidates are players rated inside the top 20 prospects.

Top Three candidates

  • Tyler Ennis- Ennis is the only candidate from the Western Hockey League. He scored a goal and added an assist in two games played.
  • Paul Byron- Byron had a huge week scoring two goals and added four assists in his four games played. Byron is small in size but he puts up big numbers. I remember watching him in the Memorial Cup last year and he was fun to watch.
  • Luke Adam- Adam is one of two Sabres prospects playing for the Montreal Juniors. He had three points in only two games played this week. Adam scored two goals in only two games this week.

Last week we had co-prospects of the week voted by the readers. The only two Sabres prospects that play in the Ontario Hockey League were voted as the prospects of the week. Drew Schiestel and Nick Crawford earn the nod, Crawford was an amazing plus seven last week.
