New defensive pairings

Lindy Ruff announced today that he will no longer use Henrik Tallinder and Toni Lydman as a defensive pairing.  The new defensive pairings will see Tallinder play with Brian Campbell and Toni Lydman will play with Jaroslav Spacek.  On the surface many fans will be skeptical of this move because it breaks apart the top defensive pairing.  Rest assured that this is truly a great move by Lindy Ruff.

The misconception is that Spacek played with Chris Pronger in Edmonton when he played so well but he only played with Pronger on the powerplay.  On his regular shift he played with Steve Staios who is a solid stay at home defenseman.  Last season Spacek was asked to play with Brian Campbell and seemed unsure of his role which affected his confidence.  I would choose Jaro Spacek as this seasons comeback player.
