The news continues to be bad for the Buffalo Sabres as word came down today that both Tim Connolly and Adam Mair will be out with an injury. Connolly will be out with a strained abdomen and Adam Mair will be out with a sprained ankle. Connolly and Mair were two of the bright spots on a team that has struggled out of the gate. Connolly is tied for the team lead with 12 points and will be sorely missed from the lineup. Adam Mair brought most of the Sabres toughness so we will see a soft team get softer.
The Sabres are already without defensemen Dmitri Kalinin, Jaro Spacek and newly signed Nolan Pratt. Pratt was signed to bring toughness to the Sabres and missing him and Mair is sure to hurt this team, although the injury to Pratt is not believed to be serious. I have not heard who will be called up for the Sabres but you have to believe that Clarke MacArthur will definitely be in the Sabres lineup on Wednesday against the Boston Bruins. MacArthur is leading the Rochester Americans with eight goals and 10 assists in 14 games.
