[open thread] Sabres @ Panthers

Time: 7:30 TV: MSG(HD) Radio: WGR55

The Sabres are looking to snap a three game losing streak in Sunrise, Florida against the Florida Panthers tonight.  The situation with the Panthers and the Sabres is unique because they share an AHL affiliate (Rochester Americans).

Sabres Notes:

Lost three straight games including two on the road against Montreal and Carolina...have not won on the road yet this season (0-3) after setting a NHL record winning 10 straight to start last season...Paul Gaustad will play after injuring his eye against Carolina...Dmitri Kalinin will miss a significant amount of time after a knee-on-knee collision with Rod Brind'Amour on Wednesday...Jaro Spacek will miss at least one more game  with an upper body injury...Mike Weber was called up from Rochester and is expected to be in the lineup tonight...Andrej Sekera is expected to be in the lineup for the fourth consecutive game

Panthers Notes:

Olli Jokinen scored two goals on Wednesday night to pass Scott Mellanby as the all time leader in goals and assists in Florida Panthers history...It was Jokinen's first two goal game of the season...Florida is 4-5 on the season but 3-1 at home...Tomas Vokoun is 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA all time against the Sabres

Fast Fact:

The Sabres haven't lost four straight road games to start a season in seven years
