Everyone remembers the rivalry that was created in the 2006 Eastern Conference Finals between the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes and it's time for the two teams to meet again. The Hurricanes won that 2006 series with the Sabres in seven games and Buffalo won all four meetings last year, this gives the Canes some incentive in tonights contest. I'm hoping that this rivalry that was created should nake for a very good entertaining contest.
Sabres Notes:
Coming off of two consecutive losses, 3-0 at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets and 4-2 in Montreal on Saturday night...the second game of a five game road trip (0-1 after loss to Montreal)...Jaro Spacek made the trip with the team but is not expected to play in tonights game...Andrej Sekera will once again dress in the place of Spacek...lost last two games after winning three consecutive...Only scored a total of two goals in the last two games...1-for-11 on the power play in the previous two losses
Hurricanes Notes:
struck by the injury bug as Scott Walker, Eric Cole and Andrew Ladd, and Dennis Seidenberg will all miss tonights game...tonights game will be the first of a three games in four nights stretch for the Canes...Cam Ward is 5-0-2 with a 1.83 Goals Against Average this season...rank third in the league on the power play scoring on 13 of 49 opportunities
Fast Fact:
There is no love loss between these teams and especially between the fans...I anticipate a large following of Sabres fans at the game tonight
