Seems like everyone's dissecting good ol' Patty. As always, the comments on the post are always even more enjoyable than the story itself.
Former University of Maine forward Brian Flynn (6'1", 185 lbs, 7/26/1988) was signed to a 1-year ELC this morning. He will play on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the year with the Rochester Americans, with his 1-year ELC starting next season. Over his four year career at U of M, he averaged over 1 PPG (156 pts/153 gms), and this past season was the 9th highest scorer in Div. 1 Hockey (18+30 in 40 games).
TSN is having a bracketology to find out who you would start a franchise with and Myers is in the running! First round matchup voting is open now...
Sabres officially announce the preseason schedule which adds one more road game from the fan shot on the right. Most curious decision is to have a home preseason game on a October 3rd, same day as a Bills home game vs. Jets.
The Globe and Mail interviewed forward thinking Darcy Regier on his thoughts on fighting in the NHL. I guess I never thought the Sabres as forward thinking but they could be right.
I know I'm the only one who isn't surprised by this. Well it seems like yesterday I was saying this same thing...get well Timmy, we need you.
The Sabres continue to add some depth at the AHL level. This is the difference between splitting a team and having your own team. When you have your own team you can add some depth that may be able to help in the future.
This is a really good write up on the Sabres prospects at NHL.com. encourage anyone who is interested in the prospects to give a read at your leisure.
A pretty good read on NHL.com about our young defenseman Mike Weber. I still think he may be a year or two away but at some point I think he will be better than Brooks Orpik. Orpik has had one good season and he is 27 years-old.
Maybe I'm the idiot here but this makes absolutely no sense to me. The Florida Panthers were looking for a new head coach and they hired Peter Deboer from the Kitchener Rangers and not Randy Cunneyworth. Now there is talk of him remaining with Rochester to coach the Panthers AHl affiliate. At least with the Sabres there is an opportunity, if Lindy Ruff ever leaves town, that he could take over as the head coach.
