[open thread] Sabres @ Thrashers

The Sabres take to the road in Atlanta today. The road is something the Sabres are going to get used to because they play most of January on the road. These two teams have met just one time this season with Buffalo winning 6-0 in Buffalo. The Sabres victory came before the firing of Bob Hartley so it's a new team at this point.
The Sabres have lost five consecutive games and hope that a game against the Thrashers will be the place to turn it around. The Sabres came back from a 3-0 deficit against Ottawa on Friday but eventually lost 5-3.

Sabres
Let's try to turn this thing around now. The season is half over they have to start winning some games.
Pratt
is in the lineup as a seventh defenseman...listed as a forward today but I don't anticipate him playing there.
Scratch that
he is a healthy scratch...I misread the bottom of the screen.
Good Pressure
Some good pressure by the Roy-Hecht-Pominville line. Force the Thrash into a icing.
SCORE!!!!!
It looks like Vanek gets the goal after the icing. Campbell just wristed it into the goal area and Vanek tipped it.
Kalinin
Terrible giveaway to Hossa. He sits with the puck nonchalantly and gives it away to Hossa who beats Miller on the wraparound backhander.
Power Play
The first power play opportunity and a chance at taking the lead back
Even period
Pretty even period...Buffalo should be ahead 1-0 if not for a bad play by Kalinin.
Losing
a strange goal by Dupuis and Buffalo is losing 2-1. Goals like that should not happen.
